The Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine is a place to play, explore, create, and learn together.
The Museum & Theatre brings hands-on learning to life through interactive exhibits, daily programs, community experiences, and fully staged theater productions featuring young performers.
There’s always something new to discover, with programming rooted in a few key areas:
STEM: science, technology, engineering + math
Multicultural education + community connection
Performing + visual arts
Early childhood education
Whether you’re building, imagining, experimenting, creating, or catching a show, the Museum & Theatre offers plenty of ways for children and families to learn through play.
BISSELL BROTHERS
Bissell Brothers has called Thompson’s Point home since 2016.
Come for the beer, stay for the food, the game, and probably another round. The Portland taproom is a laid-back place to grab a pint or cocktail, dig into something from the kitchen, and settle in with friends.
There’s usually something going on, too, from trivia and game-day hangs to family nights, special events, and plenty of reasons to come back.
Whether you’re meeting up before a show or just making an afternoon of it, Bissell is always an easy stop at the Point.
Get creative at Color Me Mine, a paint-your-own pottery studio right at Thompson’s Point. Choose a piece, make it your own and spend some time getting hands-on.
Perfect for kids, families, date nights, groups or simply an afternoon of painting something you’ll actually want to take home.
Color Me Mine is a paint your own pottery studio that offers classes, is available to be rented for parties of all kinds, and most importantly, is a fun place to visit anytime and paint! From flowerpots, to wine glasses and everything in between, CMM is fun for all ages. Color Me Mine is also BYOB, so you can carry in some Bissell Brothers beer! Come get creative!
Après and the Après Lounge will become a new home for weddings, private events, and special gatherings at Thompson’s Point, taking over the former Halo space. The Lounge will also open on select days and ahead of concerts, with more details to come.
Stay right where everything is happening. With hotel accommodations on site, guests can keep the weekend simple and spend less time worrying about getting from place to place. It’s an easy option for weddings, concerts, private events, and anyone looking to make a full Portland weekend out of their visit. Downtown is just minutes away, while Thompson’s Point gives you a home base right on campus.
